Thien Long Restaurant - Maroondah

Having not experienced a lot of Vietnamese food in the past and our first holiday to Vietnam coming up this was a great introduction to Vietnamese food. The menu is extensive so plenty of opportunities to come back. We shared the spicy beef noodle soup which was tasty, one of the fried rice thien long style and excellent with crunchy bits, mixed vegetables in XO sauce was my favorite and the mixed seafood clay pot cooked perfectly. Servings are generous but you can take home any leftovers, the staff are delightful and very helpful. Definitely going to go back

The service from upon entering was fantastic. The place is clean, staff are friendly and there is a good mix of tables and booths for dining at. The menu is extensive so be prepared to make some tough decisions unless you just give in and order heaps ! We had the vegetarian spring rolls, fried wontons and steamed dim sims for an entree and all were delicious. For mains we had the seafood special in chilli sauce, the fried crispy vegetarian rice and Mongolian Lamb. All three were delicious but I must say the vegetarian crispy fried rice stand out. The seafood special had good sized prawns, scallops, squid and fish and the sauce was great. The tables also have a few different sauces available so if you want to turn up the chilli factor, add some of the chilli oil. Assortment of beers and wines are available and I think they do byo wine only. Great value as well..... the seafood special was approx $20 and it was loaded with seafood.

We had the most terrific family get together at Thien Long last night. The food was wonderful with very generous serves. The lady serving our table had a lovely personality and made the evening more fun. I would highly recommend this venue for adults and children. Make sure to book as it seems very popular. Terrific value for money. They allow BYO for wine only with a very reasonable corkage.

These people know how to run a local suburban restaurant. Large menu, great service and very tasty food.

If you love your Asian food you can not go past this place. We have never, ever been disappointed. Everything I have tried has been sensational! Their best seller is the Spicy Squid - I have driven many km's to get it, worth the big drive. The service is fast, friendly and helpful. Fairly cheap too. Always the place we book our family birthday dinners! Do yourself a favour and get some of that tasty goodness!
