Contribuiți la feedbackI recently dined at this restaurant and ordered a farewell. The Naan bread was well prepared, but I was not impressed with the Rogan Josh. The meat was fatty and lacked the fresh taste of spices and coriander. I also do not understand why so many Indian restaurants supplement their curries. I suggest that they improve their dessert menu instead.
We had a delightful experience discussing our dietary needs with the chef, and the meal he prepared for us was the top choice we found in Queensland. Despite it being Easter weekend, the food at the restaurant was incredibly delicious, catering to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Highly recommended.
Was thrilled to go after reading the reviews. The starters were big Samosas and Pakoras. The curries were different to say the least. Butter chicken was sweet. Masala had a good taste, but had too many vegetables, the same for our lamb curry that we... also found gurke in!! The bright windshield wiper was definitely the most disappointing. That should have been a spinach sauce. There was hardly any spinach and was full of vegetables that should not have been there. The cheese had also been marinated with some sweetness and had almost a bbq taste over it. It was replaced without hesitation, but with more or less the same problem with the new court. Staff and service were great, but a great disappointment. Not very authentic.
We had dinner at a Staurday night. The curries were very good, made clear form seeds. The parts were not so big, but very happy overall. Table service and BYO perfect!
We have been to Swagat about 6 times over recent months and have loved every meal. The $25 dinner meal deal must be the best value meal you can have out, the place is BYO and while service can vary depending on Uber Eats demand...the food is worth waiting for. Standouts have been the Goat Curry and the Lamb Bhunna with a rich onion sauce. Pakora are great too, especially the paneer as are the lamb cutlets. Without reciting the menu we haven't been disappointed once with Tikka Masala, Madras, Rogan Josh, Jalfrezi or even the ubiquitous Butter Chicken. We can't think of on Indian restaurant in Australia we have enjoyed more, every dish is distinct and complex. There seem to be a lot of the local Indian community dining here to cite a cliche re choosing ethnic food. Portions are also generous.
