L'Atelier - Marmande

Warm atmosphere in a box e location with an exquisite French kitchen. I have ordered a tasteful lens cream and a fantastic portion of cork tarts. the food was fresh and also my colleagues were satisfied and satisfied with their choice! good choice.

The restaurant is located in a beautifully quiet place. the personal was fast and attentive. we had the menu du marché 3 courses for 15€ amazing worth for nice eating. will definitely recommend and return. also wonderful to see that the owner...above to answer negative reviews.

My wife and I visited this restaurant for lunch in September, now in it’s third reincarnation since I first reviewed it. It is significantly different to the previous owners when it was known as Bouchon de Marmande and then L’Atelier. It is situated just off...the main market square and has outside tables overlooking the pleasant green and plenty of tables inside but more on this later. The new owners are the same as the adjacent La Grange (also reviewed). There was a €15 menu which featured a duck tart and curried veal with fruit crumble for dessert, but we opted for a two course a la carte choice which is quite extensive. I had carpaccio of duck breast which was tasty and my wife had a fresh salad. She was going to choose the large one as a starter but was advised by the helpful waiter that this would be huge. Even the small one when it came was quite substantial consisting of two types of melon, Serrano ham, smoked salmon and lettuce all drizzled with a salty oil dressing. For main course we had fillet of veal in ginger and a large filleted St Peter fish both dishes having bags of flavour. These were served with ratatouille style vegetables and a sweet potato soufflé. Altogether it was a very good lunch and we were surprised how reasonable it was at just €51 not including drinks. I mentioned the tables and this is perhaps the only criticism. We found them to be very tightly packed and frankly not very conducive to a relaxing lunch especially as two neighbouring tables both smoked. Having said that, the restaurant is run very efficiently and courteously by the team of waiters. We recommend a visit if you are in Marmande.

We came to visit the market ended up here for lunch. The staff where very pleasant attentive. Unfortunately we are very lazy English and do not speak very good French but the staff were very patient in trying to translate the menu. Myself...and our 2 children had steak, which was perfect, and my husband had duck, which he said melted in his mouth. We all had a dessert which were also very well presented delicious. A lovely relaxing afternoon spent at this little gem

Pas aimé le système des ardoises...... l'été repas pris dehors très bien........ un peu à l'étroit à l'intérieur le cadre pas terrible ..... mais repas très bon très bien présenté et contente du service on y retourne dès demain soir pour réveillonner
