The Rex Food Bar - Marleston

Try another sauce on the meat lovers schnitzel. Tonight’s was sickly sweet and didn’t think it was worth the extra $7 for it. Also asked for pepper sauce and was given plain. The chips were pretty soggy as well. The Caesar salad was oK, but the croutons tasted stale and quite hard. We normally enjoy The Rex, but it must’ve been an off night.

On arrival one female staff member was less than impressed they had customers turn up before they were ready . It was our first time eating in the new bistro, the doors were open and we were 8 minutes early. We were totally ignored. All other staff in the gaming room and later in the night were very obliging. Shame it started off so badly. It left a bad taste.

Booked a table for 2 in the bistro. Armed early and entered the room for 1/2 hour. Was welcomed by staff and offered a beautiful fresh coffee . For our meal and found the bistro very clean presented, the staff was polite and had a smile. We ordered our meals . the service was great and the meals were excellent . Will definitely go again. Impressive.

Delicious high-quality plates, selection of drinks and great service. We tried their ducks, main thing their desserts, and everything was delicious. Very recommended.
