Fresh Catch Bistreaux - Marksville

Fresh Catch is actually closed and the restaurant is now just Broken Wheel Brewery which was one of the worst meals we have had. Our burgers were cold, fries were just ok and service was so slow. People seem to come for the beer, but the food was not redeemable. We came and left hungry because the food just wasn't worth the calories. We never give bad reviews, but this was just really awful.

I was looking for a good steak so I tried the Peppercorn Crusted Ribeye and a couple of sides, the garlic roasted vegetables and the sweet potato chipotle mash. Everything was very tasty and the steak was cooked properly, though I would recommend that if you try the ribeye, have the staff put the mushroom butter sauce and green beans on the side because these garnishes, especially the butter sauce, are VERY rich and filling and it is a bit overwhelming. Very tasty but the steak doesn't necessarily need to be swimming in it. I'd rather it was in a cup/bowl and I could add/dip to my taste. The roasted veggies are very good, as well as the sweet potato mash. Pricing was pretty high for the ribeye, though other menu items seemed to be more reasonably priced. Keep in mind that this is an ala carte menu, so everything adds up. I will return and will try something a bit lighter next time. It was a decent experience.

Very disappointed with my to go order experience. I was so very hungry trying to find some place decent nearby and found this place. Checked out the website to see what food they had and their prices. Everything seemed decent. Ordered my shrimp poboy. Swung in to get my order and was surprised by the price compared to what was on the website. It was a $3 difference. I mentioned it to the lady behind the bar who then had someone else come speak with me. This is where I was completely displeased with my experience. He asked me if I went on the Facebook page and I said no. I never do. I always go to the websites. He commenced to rudely tell me that It was just a few dollars , I 'll update the website , and that they had to up the price due to the pandemic. Not once did he offer to give me a reduced price. He just walked away from me. I was very hungry so I paid for it anyway. The poboy was not even worth the original price because of the size. It at least tasted good. So thats why I gave it a two star rating..

Service is poor to say the least. The bartender seems to be the only server in the entire restaurant and everyone seems more content gossiping in the kitchen or getting takeout delivered from other restaurants. Duck rolls were under cooked and tasted like they came from Costco. The side of onion rings (pictures) were under seasoned, extremely small, and ridiculously priced at $4. The only good part of this was the ride here.

Located in the heart of Marksville, Fresh Catch has become one of my favorite places to dine in! Delicious food awaits. Every time my family has eaten here, we have enjoyed the food, the service and affordability. The seafood tastes fresh, hence a delight for a mouthwatering experience. Several times while dining in, there was a beautiful blue eyed young lady who sang at the request of a family who were obvious frequent customers. Her VOICE was ANGELIC and moved me to tears! I don't know of any other experience in Marksville offering such personal request. Many of the wait staff greet customers by name in this cozy bistro. The building Is gorgeous and is sure to invite customers for years to come!
