Malay Thai Famous Cuisine - Markham

The food provided a decent representation of Malaysian favorites, but it could certainly use more spice. The wait for the dishes is rather long, and they only accept cash, which is not very convenient.

Genuine Malaysian cuisine! You can also purchase sambal, and it's absolutely delicious!

I am absolutely in love with the Hainan chicken rice at this restaurant. The price is very reasonable, and it’s definitely some of the best Hainan chicken rice in Markham. I have tried several other dishes here, but they are just average. If they ever run out of the Hainan chicken rice, I would likely go to one of the other many restaurants in the food court or mall. Still, the Hainan chicken rice alone deserves a solid 5-star rating for this place.

I would give this restaurant a rating of 2 to 3 stars based on the quality of the food. While it's not bad, the fried noodles are quite salty and a bit overcooked. The laksa noodles have a good level of spice, but the flavor is just average and not particularly impressive. The prices are reasonable, with each dish costing around $10. The owners, a friendly couple, are definitely a positive aspect of the experience. However, I recommend they switch to larger spoons, as the tiny ones currently provided are too small to even hold a single noodle!

This is my number one spot for Laksa in York Region. It's spicy, creamy, and bursting with flavor. The amount of toppings is generous, and it's reasonably priced at $10.50. My second favorite is the Penang Shrimp Noodles, which come with a tasty Sambal on the side. Although it's flavorful, it feels lighter compared to the Laksa. Both dishes have a mix of thick egg noodles and thin rice noodles, creating a lovely contrast in texture. These soup noodles are ideal for chilly autumn and winter days, making them truly comforting.
