We had to return to try the Crispy Beef again, which was amazing – crispy, sweet, and full of flavor, much better than the neighboring Hakka restaurant. The Chili Chicken (dry version) and the Chicken Cantonese Chow Mein were also excellent. Unlike most Chinese restaurants, there is a short wait before the food is served, but it is worth it as the dishes are freshly prepared, well cooked, and flavorful. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly. The ambiance is comfortable and inviting. We can't wait to return.
As a white male in my mid-20s, I must say that this restaurant offers great value. The lunch special is unbeatable, serving a generous portion of food for under $6. Although I'm a picky eater and usually avoid curry or Indian dishes, I thoroughly enjoyed the General Tso's chicken. Highly recommend checking out this spot!
Visited here because they had a deal on Groupon which is essentially a bill credit. Glad I saw it because if you're looking for an affordable, flavourful, dinner that reminds you of flavours from your childhood (or your Indian or Asian friend's childhood) then this is a good place to come by for dishes that have some spice, some bold flavour and some familiarity. <br/ <br/ It's right across from Costco so makes a good after shopping trip for a meal. HUGE portions.<br/ <br/ I recommend the house special chow mein. Any of the manchurian dishes too are great.<br/ <br/ Atmosphere is very greasy spoon, but the food is on point for when you some want something hearty, yet full of flavour.
Initially, we intended to have lunch at Federick Restaurant next door, but it was closed on Boxing Day, so we ended up at their neighbor Hakka King. The restaurant was spacious and well-maintained. It wasn't very crowded, with an equal number of customers ordering takeout or dining in. Hakka King still had a fresh feel, with patrons carefully studying the menu and asking many questions. I believe that over time, this could become a popular spot in the area.
Just came home from the trip and decided to eat something new in the area, only on average. I'm not saying that the food I have is bad.
