Duchess - Markham

Nothing else to say...just love and drinks!!!...place is extraordinarily tired and in desperate need of some sort of reinvestment, but it is the best atmosphere, for both young and old in Markham...patio is nice too!

A favourite spot in Markham for pub food and beers. This is a very busy place and the service is great. The best place to sit in the summer is in the back patio, however it was full and we sat on the sidewalk patio. The chicken wings are great and on Tuesdays they are half price with the purchases of a drink (can we alcoholic or non-alcoholic.)

I had not been to the Duchess in 25 years after moving away from the Markham area, so went back to see if it was still there! It was and is sadly in bad shape. Nothing has been done in all the years since I was last there and it was so disappointing. Very worn, dated and grubby and chicken curry was spicy as stated but with lots of cayenne, not great curry flavour! A bit of cilantro on top would have added some colour and flavour, but not made it much better! Used to be a great place with a great menu, but sadly, not any more!

This is a great pub with great service and good pub style food. While the pub on the inside is quite nice and authentic, the real gem is the deck out back. With all the trees you can easily imagine that you are sitting somewhere in Muskoka. And they have live music on weekends.

This is the closest you can get to a traditional Pub in the GTA. Great selection of beers on tap and always good sports on the TV. The food can be inconsistent but the service is always good and the atmosphere fun. Great location downtown Markham.
