Contribuiți la feedbackI recently visited the Bourbon St. Grill at Vaughan Mills shopping centre. I was the only person in the line. There were three staff behind the counter. I was completely ignored while they chatted. After waiting for several minutes I left. When I contacted head office I received a generic response via email. My issue was not resolved and I received no further correspondence. I will never attend this location again.
No surprises. From location to location all Bourbon Street Grill’s are the same, the food, is what it is “Mall Court Food”. The food at this Bourbon Street Grill location looks and tastes like Mall Court Food, and as always Bourbon Street Grill food ranges between bland to salty.
The service is what I call courteously efficient. In a friendly manner, I asked for an explanation of the offerings, she interrupted me with a sample offering. What's the rush? I wondered to myself, there were no other customers on line. So instead of a chat I felt obliged to settle on the first thing I sampled... I didnt want to seem gluttonous by taking multiple samples. I just wanted to know what the dishes had in them. The staff did not demonstrate either the patience or perhaps the requisite capacity to have a friendly conversation about their exotic dishes. I had the blackened chicken with spicy rice and corn. The main course had that well cooked and marinated texture and taste. The sides were hot, flavourable and fresh tasting. This is a full notch above most hot-pot cafeteria style outlets. It could be that my love for the New Orleans fare springs from my Acadian (pre-cajun) taste buds. One thing is for certain, I do come back to this spot because this franchise offers an authentic looking spread. However; the people who operate the franchise don't fully understand the concept. Asian hot sauce packets and a cheap bottle of siracha are hardly apropos. So there is an incredulous gap between the idea and the execution. They are either too cheap or unaware of the expectations associated with the fare. They should clearly and conspicuously have on hand higher-end and less salty Louisiana red hot sauces. Better yet, offer a line of Bourbon St Grill hot sauces. I would easily give a higher rating if they attended to this very important detail. Given the gulf of reason between the common sense service of Cajun fare and the actual offerings on the money taking end; headquarters or the franchisor should step up and bring up standards in this manner. Also, If they brushed up on their training and service standards this outlet could be a real stand out at the Markville mall.
