Bento Sushi - Markham

This restaurant is one of my favorites! The prices are affordable, the portions are generous, and the staff is always attentive and helpful.

I had the worst sushi experience ever. I requested extra soy sauce, but she only provided one additional packet. The sushi didn't even taste like fish; it was bland and overpriced for what it was.

For safety, I opted for a Salmon Bento. However, the salmon was dry, tough, and had a strong fishy smell. The bento included just four thin vegetable maki rolls and an almost nonexistent dab of wasabi. The lone gyoza was decent, but even after finishing my meal, I still felt quite hungry. Overall, it was not an enjoyable experience for me.

This is probably my first and last time visiting Bento sushi. I didn't expect much especially at this price point. But my Sukiyaki Beef Bento Box $9.99) just made me feeling sad. Those 4 California Rolls with tons of smashed together rice. Eating that was just like eating a dense block of sticky rice. End of the day Sushi Special at 30% off. I really not sure if I would eat those after I looked at them in the display. There was only 1 staff taking order and assembling prep made food together. Really I could not stop laughing when I saw the sign about how the sushi made fresh daily by talented sushi chef.

The food was mediocre. Really soggy rice with a tiiiinny bit of chicken. I wouldn 't go there again for the food. Unfortunately, I had to submit a paper online and asked for the password to the Guest Wifi. The manager said the guest wifi was only for employees, and I had to go spend more money elsewhere just for that sweet wifi. Long story short, it 's a 21st-century store with no wifi and soggy rice. I would much rather recommend other stores like Freshii near here and Teriyaki Experience if you want Japanese food...
