I will never return to this restaurant because the owner, or at least I assume she was the owner, gave me a look as if she thought I had some sort of issue with her partner. I'm not sure if there’s a specific problem with Black American women, but I definitely did not feel welcomed. She was quite rude, and even though I only ordered white rice and plantains, I was charged $11! I won’t be coming back.
The food is usually tasty but always smells bad and evem tastes funny sometimes
Toyin was a complete pleasure to eat in. The staff is very friendly and ready to introduce you to authentic Nigerian cuisine. Everyone in the restaurant was Nigerian and they said this was their favorite place to go. The prices were very reasonable and you get a large helping of food. I'm not entirely sure what I ate because a nice Nigerian gentleman behind ordered for me, but it was a spicy spinach and melon seed stew with flavors I can't really compare to anything else. The fufu that you eat with it was to die for. The tilapia was also delicious. However, be aware that it is not deboned if you order it if you don't eat much fish. I can't wait to try more Nigerian food! I recommend that everyone should come and try Toyin- Nigerian Cuisine.
Very disappointed. Called to put in an order. First call went straight to voicemail and when I call the second time was dismissed to put order online. Restaurant isn't bad, but food is very untasty. I don't know what is wrong with the ogbono but it had a flavor like Irish bar soap and jellof tasted like it was from the bottom of the pan. Egusi not bad but other food was so disappointing.
