We went twice to eat at this restaurant, a lovely hidden gem of a place. The first time it was for my husband’s birthday and the chef really went out of his way to make it a super special meal. I wish to point out, the name of the restaurant is related to the history of the area 1st Century. There is also a small boutique winery with the same name just up the road. The chef knew the winemaker and helped us arrange a wine tasting visit. Delicious, well balanced white wines made with love. The second time was after the wine tasting visit. Again, the freshly prepared and delicious food, not to mention, a well priced menu was outstanding yet again.

This is a fabulous restaurant. The chef went through the menu and was very personable and provided great recommendations. The food was of a high quality and the setting is beautiful. A gem of a place and I highly recommend it.

We had a fabulous meal last night, the food was incredible and the service excellent. We felt that the meal was good value and all 3 courses absolutely delicious. The childrens menu is the best I have ever experienced- beautifully cooked burgers and homemade breaded chicken with very generous portions. The chef came to explain everything and it was so lovely to meet him and hear about his food and hear about the menu options. Everything is made in house including the bread and butter and you can tell. I couldn’t recommend more highly. If we lived locally we would definitely visit often!

Estava na zona a passar a época natalícia com a familia e precisei de fugir um bocadinho... e ainda bem que o fiz! Restaurante muito bem apresentado com um serviço muito simpático e eficaz. A carta é relativamente simples (tirando as tapas que tem muitas opções) o que eu gosto.. garante que há uma aposta na qualidade. Pedi um t-bone para partilhar, uns croquetes para entrada e um tiramusu para sobremesa. Eatava tudo muito bom, maa o t bone estava simplesmente divinal. Cozinhado no ponto e com os acompanhamentoa certos. No final uma caminhada pelo Freixo. Sem duvida a repetir!

Não poderia recomendar com mais entusiasmo. Tudo estava maravilhoso, desde as entradas até à sobremesa. Demorou um pouco, porque é tudo preparado na hora. O chef é muito simpático e muito profissional. Mais do que recomendo
