Contribuiți la feedbackSometimes when you go out to eat, you think “Well, I could have made this at home myself and it would have been better”. This restaurant is the opposite thing to that. We had some little fish fried in breadcrumbs and I cannot see how they did it- if the bones had been removed, or if they had been cooked in a way that made them impossible to detect? And there were some very delicious flat ones and others which had somehow been puffed up into fish croquettes kind of, and I also cannot work out how they did that. An absolute taste sensation, though. The poached pear with chocolate sauce for dessert was insanely yummy. The location is beyond charming also- raised up and overlooking the Poggio village square, they have seats outside under a wooden canopy dripping with vines. Local cats roam around the tables – a definite plus for me. The interior is decorated in the kind of quirky, eccentric mishmash style which is the regulation standard in Hackney where I live, and the gentlemen serving us our food were also on point for East London, with braids, sculpted beards, mutton chops and heavy tattoos. Warm and friendly, they made us entirely at home. My only issue with this place is that it’s situated on the island of Elba. I’d prefer it to be next door to my house so I could eat there every night.
Amazing spot on the Elba island. Great Trattoria on the base of local ingredients, with brilliant service. The taste of the food was just unbelievable. Definitely wish to coming back!
Really good experience in the old little town of Poggio, the Simply style of restaurant is nice, you feel in late '50, and fell at home of grandparents, the dishes are lovable and you are allowed to clean the dish. Really recommend, really good experience of Liguria old cooking tasty and smells, really really recommend.
I had discovered Trattoria Sciamadda a summer before; it was basically love at first sight, with Poggio being one of the most beautiful mountain villages and Sciamadda being one of the best restaurants for me: So last summer we returned, only twice in a week, I wish we would have returned more often. A simple but excellent menu with local fish and Ligurian cuisine, a picturesque venue with lovely staff. One of our favorite restaurants, not only on Elba. Rigatoni fatti in casa al ragù di sarde, pappardelle di castagne fatte in casa al sugo di cinghiale, acciughe, a very good selection of wine, mmmh. Go there and eat there! (But please don’t tell too many people…
Avoid this place. Portions are overpriced and very tiny. Food without flavor, only tomato sauce. We ordered pasta and the portion was barely an appetizer, with lots of tomato sauce and almost nothing of the promised ingredients (mushrooms, fish, meat). Grumpy service.
