Neat patio, that's what drew us in but no fans to circulate the air. I'm pretty sure the rice was made with sushi or risotto rice, it was sticky and starchy and gross. The rice was like they took sushi rice and stirred tomato paste in and the slapped it in a bowl. Everything is a la cart, chips and salsa are a side order, you can't order water, you have to purchase a bottle. The horchata tasted like eggnog.... we should have stuck with Taqueria El Bronco- much better in every regard except the patio.
A staple of Cherokee Street I love to watch a business make continued improvements of their space through the years. Easy walk up ordering, fast wait times for food and have always loved everything I've ordered. The quesabirria special really hit the spot last time I was in and I saw someone else get an amazing looking shrimp cocktail so I'll be back up to try that soon. In addition, it's been hard to maintain good pricing post pandemic and they make great food while still having reasonable prices.
Unfortunately they declined in the aftermath of COVID. The way they remodeled the dining room and ordering system is off-putting.
This food and patio are to die for. Great people watching, and the paletas round off the meal beautifully. I do recommend patio rather than indoors, or be sure to wait by the window. The system to text when food is ready doesn't work well due to poor phone reception.
