Contribuiți la feedbackDiscovered summer a few weeks ago and have been back several times since. It's only open from 7 am to 2 pm, so it's just bread or lunch. So far we have tried the Omelett, the Cheeseburger, the Rueben and the Perogie lunch specifically and... were not disappointed at all. Each of the lunch specialities comes with soup, salad or frits. Earlier this week my wife had the reubs and the soup she tried was cabbage roll. She said that would have been enough by herself, as it seemed to be chopped on cabbage rolls with some liquid. I tried a bit and it was absolutely delicious. I had the Cheeseburger and it was amazingly delicious. Today sat with a few mates again when I tried the Perogie lunch and was not disappointed again. It also came with soup and I had the potato ham and it was TO THE FOR!. There were eight perogies and came suitably dressed with cooked bacon bits, onion and acid cream. One of these meals, where it is afterwards, it is naptime. A friend had a French toast I had and it is excellent and another had the eggs Benny he said were amazing. Large portions, affordable prices and fast, competent, friendly service. What else do you need?
Over the years we have often driven by this little diner, and have always been parked by the number of cars that are out of the way. A few weeks ago we decided to see for ourselves why this little restaurant was so busy in the middle of an industrial area. We went to lunch. It seems homemade soups are a specialty and at our first visit they had four soups on the menu. My husband had a potato bacon-chowder that was just excellent. Since he also looked at Borscht, the server brought him a small bowl that he enjoyed very much. My husband had the breakfast, which was very good, and I had the burger of the day, which was also delicious. On the side were the best pommes I ever had in my life (and trust me... I had more than my share of Pommes! I returned with my daughter several days later and we both had breakfast. I had the eggs Benedict, who was very beautiful - the eggs were cooked for perfection. My daughter had the breakfast chick and enjoyed it. Since the soup had been so good at our previous visit, we ordered a turkey noodle soup to go- really wonderful! The restaurant was very clean, the server friendly and efficient, We will definitely be back!
I have been to this restaurant twice for breakfast and they have the best eggs Benedict in town. The menu offers many other interesting options and the service is top-notch.
We had lunch at this restaurant a few days ago, and we will definitely be returning. My husband ordered a special burger from the chalkboard menu with speck, mushrooms, cheese, and delicious fries. It was very good. I had the reuben sandwich, one of my favorites, and it was made just right, which is rare these days. The puzzling part was that the reuben was not made with traditional Russian or thousand island dressing, but instead had a strong dijon mustard dressing. Despite this difference, I really enjoyed the sandwich and will order it again. Perhaps this should be mentioned on the menu. The gravy was not homemade, but it was still tasty when paired with the fries, which were exceptional. I am typically not a fan of French fries, but these were outstanding. The apple sauce cake was unbelievably delicious, moist, dense, flavorful, and topped with a beautiful frosting. It was dangerously good – I could eat it every day. Are apples a theme for breakfast here? We will definitely be coming back, as the server was friendly and efficient, and the food was excellent overall.
I ordered eggs Benedict and the English muffin was not toasted and cold in the middle. The Hollandaise sauce tasted sour. My soda had hair in it. My sister's chicken strips were frozen and she claimed everything is homemade, but frozen is not homemade.
