Sushi Tengu - Maple Ridge Canada

Best sushi in town. The owner is also there every single day making sure everything is clean and the food is presented beautifully. Found this restaurant when it just opened and have been going there ever since.

While browsing through the various menus of sushi restaurants in Maple Ridge, I came across Sushi Tengu's eclectic mix of special rolls. One that particularly caught my attention was the 4 in 1 Roll, which featured half orders of four of their special rolls. When I saw that roll on the menu, I had two thoughts.

FRESH QUALITY SUSHI ARTFULLY PRESENTED. This is the best sushi my husband and I have eaten in a very long time. We had to thank the Chef before we left it was that good. <br/ <br/ We are new to the area. We have eaten at pretty much every Sushi place in the area. We think we find a good spot and we return only to be completely disappointed. It was my birthday and I was determined to try one more Sushi place, I had driven by it a few times. <br/ <br/ First impressions were that the restaurant itself was very clean and the decor modern, much nicer than we expected and certainly nicer than others in the area. The Service was fast and the servers friendly and polite. What impressed us the most was the presentation of the food, it was beautifully plated and the quality and freshness of the fish matched the plating. The tempura was crisp and the prawn, literally melted in my mouth. The tuna and salmon sashimi were served ice cold. We had the Tuna Tataki as well and were pleased to find that it was just how we love it. In addition we had a roll combo that we enjoyed as well. A little cold sake and some tea....We can't wait to go back and try more menu items. <br/ <br/ To me sushi is delicate and beautiful and when presented artfully it shows great respect for the ingredients. it also elevates the pleasure of eating it even more. This is now our favorite japanese restaurant. On the way out when our server found out it was my birthday she said, wait, I have a gift for you and she presented me with a pretty japanese Strawberry pop, apparently the top explodes when you open it. Fun! Check this place out.

Not Just Another Sushi Place. They're one of the newer sushi places in town but Sushi Tengu offers arguably the best Japanese food in Maple Ridge. Interior decor is modern and clean, creating a very welcoming atmosphere. Their special rolls exemplify some creativity with their sushi, but it doesn't stop there. The udon is fantastic and teriyaki combo is great as well. They even offer bottomless miso soup with some combos, which is a definite plus for a miso soup lover like myself. Service seems a bit awkward at times but they are polite and friendly. Definitely one of, if not the best Japanese restaurants in town.

I love the place and the food, It's the best sushi place in Maple Ridge!
