Bull Inn - Mansfield

I cannot believe this place had the nerve to send me a survey after our experience! I had booked a table for 12:30 to meet a friend for lunch at this pub, which was supposed to be a convenient halfway point for both of us after traveling for an hour. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the kitchen was closed and there was no food available. We received no communication from the pub to let us know in advance, which left us in a tough spot to rearrange our plans. Very disappointing! Food: 1, Service: 1, Atmosphere: 1.

The restaurant didn't have any bitters available, and when I inquired, they could only offer me one option, which I tried but found to be bad. I had to settle for a larger drink instead. There was no salt or pepper on the table, and steak knives were provided only after I asked for them. One of the steaks was cooked slightly overdone, and the mushrooms were tough. I requested coffee, but the machine was broken—though they did have a kettle available! On a positive note, the manager did bring me a pint of bitter after changing the barrel, and it was much better than the first one.

Dismal rooms that are in dire need of some renovation. Price per person: £80–90.
