Wooden Spoon - Mankato

I want to start by saying that the staff at this restaurant was very friendly and helpful. When we walked in, we were greeted by a beautiful display of baked goods including Whoopi pies, cheesecakes, and various breads. I decided to try a red velvet cake Whoopi pie, which looked delicious, along with some cheesecake slices and prepackaged items. Unfortunately, when we tried the desserts later that evening, we were disappointed. The cheesecake was dense and didn't taste as expected. It had icing on top, which was unusual, and neither slice we bought was enjoyable. The Whoopi pie I tried the next day was rock hard and not what I would expect from a Whoopi pie. It was inedible. I was disappointed with the quality of these items considering the amount of money I spent. On a positive note, the cinnamon pull apart and English muffin toast were good and we had no issues with them. Overall, I would not recommend this place for desserts.

Although I live out of state, I have tried two dishes from the Wooden Spoon and they were amazing! I had a delicious granola with strawberries and bananas, as well as a garlic Chex mix. Despite not typically enjoying garlic or Chex mix, I found this dish incredibly tasty and devoured it quickly. Those who live in Minnesota are fortunate to have access to the Wooden Spoon. I highly recommend trying their dishes, they also make great gifts. Yum yum!

We absolutely adore the Wooden Spoon! The happy hour on the deck tonight was absolutely amazing thanks to their garlic toast and bacon jalapeño dip!

My pulled pork sandwich was great. The white bbq sauce was Ranch Dressing. I prefer the normal Bbq sauce. The tuna salad tasted great.

The Italian wedding soup is my favorite all the time! It is full of vegetables and has the right amount of spices.
