Hartman's Bakery And Pastry Shoppe

This restaurant has unfortunately declined in both quality and variety. I traveled from out of town specifically to purchase some bakery items, but I was quite disappointed. While some of the baked goods were enjoyable, especially the hard rolls, I was there primarily for the kolaches. Unfortunately, most of them were broken and crumbling in the box. I couldn’t even pick one up without it falling apart in my hands. They used to make them individually and round, but now they make them like cakes and simply cut them into pieces. This may save time, but the bread is simply not edible. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

The pastries are absolutely fantastic! I would have given a five-star rating, but our visit on Sunday morning at 9 AM was less than ideal. There was a woman in front of us who purchased several dozen baked goods one by one, effectively clearing out the entire stock. With only one staff member at the counter, everyone in line behind her had to wait patiently as she emptied the trays. I suggest they either bake more items or have an additional person to assist customers.

This bakery is outstanding, and the staff is fantastic. They are incredibly welcoming and create a wide variety of delicious treats. You definitely need to make this your go-to bakery!

I visited Hartman's Bakery today and purchased a donut, which I would rate one star. It was dry, overcooked, and burnt. Sadly, I won’t be returning because this isn't the first time I've encountered dry donuts here. They almost taste like they’re a few days old. This is particularly disappointing as I have an Airbnb just half a block away, and I used to recommend this bakery to my guests. Now, I can’t continue to do so.

This place is truly exceptional. The baked goods are delicious and very reasonably priced. They offer a delightful variety, including fun cookies, doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, flaky and tasty elephant ears, scotcharoos, cakes, cake pops, and cream puffs. Although I’m generally not supposed to eat flour, I make an exception for this place every now and then because life deserves those special treats.
