Restaurante Grottino - Máncora

As with the other reviews of this place, this is a review of the hotel (hospedaje) rather than the restaurant! We stayed 2 nights here based on a friend's recommendation. It's in a great location - right on the beach but in a quiet area rather than with all the bars. We paid 80 soles for a double room with private bathroom and a balcony with an amazing view of the sea. The room was lovely, and really clean. Very good value! We even got a free beer on arrival. Shower was hot, wifi good enough to Skype, and the Swiss guy who runs it was very friendly. Breakfast was pretty good, including a juice, hot drink and bread with eggs, ham and cheese. We particularly liked the system of signing up on a piece of paper for everything you had from the bar or restaurant - it felt very relaxed and open. Oh and if you like animals you'll like it here - there are several dogs (friendly), a tiny kitten, and loads of rabbits! The only downside was the loud music on the Sat night despite being away from the bars. But it was fine the day before, and it seems this is almost unavoidable in Máncora.
