Teppenyaki - Manchester

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time and I was very impressed. The chefs are amazing and the staff is extremely welcoming. I can't wait to come back again.

After booking a table to celebrate myself and my partners birthdays here, I found that I left feeling very disappointed with my experience (and wishing that I had booked somewhere different). I was a first time teppanyaki customer and my expectations were perhaps a bit...too high for this meal, however my partner has been to one before and left feeling the same. Firstly, the live cooking experience is exciting and interesting, however, it would be better if the chefs actually appeared that they wanted to be there too. The atmosphere around the table is highly impacted by the energy that the chefs give off, and if that energy is just ‘getting through the shift’ rather than wanting to give the customers an experience they’ll never forget, that is reflected around the table. The food is delicious and highly filling, so make sure that you do leave plenty of room. We purchased the emperor set menu, at pp, and for that price you would have hoped, at least, that the chef would have got our steak order correct. Fortunately, I do not mind having my steak rare, however if you are particular about the cooking time of your steak, I would recommend choosing another menu item. Perhaps a personal issue now, but I did mention on the booking form that it was mine and my partners birthdays and, I hoped, that this would have led to a song or some form of celebration for us to feel special- especially as I pointed this out on our booking form and in the special requests box. When we entered and saw the servers giving other customers celebrating a bit of a show, with drums and a cymbal, we began to expect that something similar would be coming for us. However it never did. Perhaps I could have rang in advance and asked if this was what they did, but as I had made it so clear in my booking form I did not see this as necessary. Overall, would I return? No. But for a experience it is definitely worth a visit.

Great evening celebrating my sons Birthday!!! Great food , Great entertainment! of our guests hadn’t been bei, but all said they can’t wait to return. It’s not just a restaurant, it’s an Event !!

I revisited this restaurant after nine years and it is still fantastic. It is likely one of the best restaurants around.

This was our first visit to this restaurant and we were impressed by the amazing food and atmosphere. Chef Ronnie was fantastic! He was incredibly friendly and put on a great show.
