Service- even better than the food!! The staff was spot on, especially the girl behind the bar-...Maddie!! She was an absolute star! Drinks- we ordered cocktails all night, and they tasted divine!! No queue. Atmosphere- was quite hip, down to Earth and updated. Parking- reasonable amount of space for the amount of customers the restaurant can hold. Covid- tables were sufficiently spaced, with sanitiser dotted everywhere, only thing is change was having cutlery in the middle of the table. overall from me!!
The staff at this restaurant is very friendly, providing quick service with great music and a positive atmosphere. The two women who served us were very accommodating. The location is great and they offer a wide variety of drink options. I will definitely be returning soon.
As a first-time visitor to this restaurant, I found the staff to be very welcoming and friendly. They made the evening enjoyable. The cheeseburger rolls and mac n cheese bites were good, but the burgers and fries were mediocre, similar to what you would expect from a chain like Harvester or Hungry Horse. The "Big Manc" burger was indeed big, but lacked flavor, with what seemed like solidified melted cheddar cheese and a dry bun. There was too much sauce, perhaps to compensate for the lack of a brioche bun. Although there was a wait for our food, it wasn't a big issue for us. The waitress also gave me a complimentary milkshake, but it was full of ice chunks, making it difficult to drink. Overall, while I had high expectations for Solita, I was not impressed and will not be returning.
Booked for people for a university reunion Attended the restaurant with guests travelling from All over the north west to attend a reunion The restaurant was closed on arrival I tried calling the restaurant times with no answer Why let people book online...if the restaurant is closed and have the cheek to request a deposit
A shadow of its former self: Our group of friends used to dine here regularly (a few years back) and the current restaurant is a shadow of its former self. Having had a bad experience here last year we decided to give them one more...chance which turned out to be a big mistake! Firstly, the drinks (cocktails), and general service from the bar staff was good; but thats where the positives end. We arrived at ordered food by and it wasn't until that the starters arrived. The frustrating thing being that the restaurant was not even busy or other small groups downstairs and no-one upstairs). During this time we witnessed several other groups of walk out in disgust at the quality of the food and long waiting times so our hopes of a decent meal began to sink! We enquired as to when the food was going to arrive, several times, and on each occasion was given a different story. One of our group was then told after ordered) that the dish he'd ordered was no longer available since the kitchen had sold the last of it a moment earlier. Almost TWO HOURS after we'd ordered and the food finally arrived well half of it did: The odd burger and side of fries; followed by the saddest mini bowls of coleslaw that I've ever seen. Half the burgers looked appalling, with no salad garnish and at best luke-warm. The salt and peppers fries were a soggy mush and Nachos had seen betters days! A real disgrace; particularly given such a long wait. We raised this concern (several times) with the manager and made it crystal clear that we would not be paying for the food as it was of such a poor standard and had taken such a long time to arrive. The Manager (who in her defence seemed to have been dropped in it by the owners of the chain) explained how she had half a kitchen and half the kitchen staff to run the restaurant. My advice under such circumstances would be to remain closed: as they've now lost customers for life. The quality of the food was appalling and on par with something youd get at fairground burger van, but there you'd be paying a fiver and not a meal! The total food bill was quite rightly voided (it must've come to around and we settled our bar bill and left disappointed. The we paid was absolutely fair for the service, quality of food and dining experience we had. Sadly, this is our second consecutive bad experience at Solita Didsbury and we will not be returning. We remember your golden age RIP Solita Didsbury.
