My nephew had to send his meal back as it wasn’t what he ordered. 2 meals were missed off the order because the member of staff forgot that they were on a second page of her pad The beef on the hanging kebabs was tough. My daughters Lamb hanging kebab fell off on the way to the table and wasn’t replace even though the member of staff picked it up and returned it to the kitchen. My grandsons meal wasn’t anything like we ordered. We took a birthday cake and they couldn’t light the candles as they couldn’t find a lighter. Not a pleasant experience and don’t think we will be going back.
The food at this restaurant was delicious and the service was excellent. However, I was disappointed to receive a parking fine two months later for parking in the pub's car park. I had never paid for parking at a pub before and was surprised that this pub charges their customers. It felt like a rip-off and I would caution others against going there if they want to avoid being taken advantage of before even entering the establishment.
I had visited the Roebuck before COVID and was glad to return recently. The food was a good value and the drinks were standard. The service we received from Steph and her team was outstanding. We definitely plan on coming back. Thank you.
Visited today for a drink on our walk home. We only stopped for a couple of pints and I normally wouldn’t bother writing a review but I was utterly shocked at the staff behaviour. Unfriendly when we went in and our drinks were so flat but we didn’t bother complaining as we didn’t expect anything although a smile would be nice. I was more in shock at the way that what I can presume was the manager was behaving. Firstly I was walking in front of him and he must’ve been in a hurry and instead of politely asking to get past he was huffing and puffing trying to barge past me and did so in an aggressive way. I then overheard him speaking to a couple who were wanting to order food. He was completely disrespectful to paying customers telling them it was their fault they had to wait to order because they were the ones who rang up to book in late and he had other customers to prioritise. If he had explained this in a kind way, I think it would’ve been okay but I was truly in shock at the manner and rude way he disregarded the customers questions. Making out like they were in the wrong for ringing to make a last minute booking instead of an advanced reservation. So rude, I definitely wouldn’t be tempted to stop again for a drink let alone food. Why work around people if you’re going to treat them so badly get a job behind a computer or learn to at least be polite !!!!
Visited the Roebuck for the first time with my partner 2 boys and 1 year old baby for Sunday dinner. The food was incredible one of the best roasts I have had in a long time the beef was perfectly cooked and the dessert (Sticky Toffee Pudding) was like a slice of heaven. The staff are super friendly and attentive, they were also amazing at catering to the needs of our 1 year old who is dairy free. Will 100% be going back more often for food. For the reviews about the parking all I can say is it says you need to validate parking when you walk in and the staff also made a point of asking had we driven so we could validate parking.
