Petra's Bistro Wine - MAMMOTH LAKES

We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Thursday without a reservation, and there were plenty of tables available, though it was not peak season. We were in time for happy hour and kicked off our meal with a couple of cocktails: I enjoyed a Sazerac while he ordered an Old Fashioned—both were outstanding. We decided to share several dishes, which included: - A bread basket featuring a lovely assortment of freshly baked breads. - Brussels sprouts, which were tasty but a bit sweeter than we preferred. - Crab cakes, which were very good and served with mixed greens. - Sautéed mushrooms, a generous portion of assorted mushrooms sautéed in butter. - Gnocchi, which was delicious, served in a rich buttery cream sauce with tomatoes and mushrooms. - Crème brûlée, which was perfection. - Chocolate mousse served in a little crispy waffle bowl. - A hot toddy that leaned slightly on the sour side. Overall, the food was very good, and the service was even better—our server was exceptionally friendly and efficient. We had a wonderful time and managed to save some money by arriving during happy hour! I would definitely return.

The food is fantastic, and the wine selection is excellent. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as a perfect 5 out of 5.

I visited this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. My daughter and I shared the Ahi tuna and salmon. I had hoped to sit by the fireplace, but unfortunately, we couldn't get a table there. Instead, we were seated in a colder area of the restaurant.

We had a delightful meal. The homemade gnocchi stood out as particularly delicious. The cost per person was over $100. Food rating: 4/5, Service rating: 5/5, Atmosphere rating: 4/5.
