Buena Vista Mexican - Malvern

The food is generally good, but I had an order that specifically requested no rice and ended up with double rice, along with no refried beans. The service is excellent, the nachos are fantastic, and the enchiladas are quite good as well. Just make sure to check your take-out orders for accuracy!

They didn't pay attention to my notes at all. I ordered enchiladas and requested the sauce on the side, but they completely ignored that. The dish wasn't very good, and I won't be ordering it again.

To start, we enjoyed some chips and guacamole, which was delicious without being too heavily seasoned. A couple of friends opted for the tortilla soup as their starters and remarked that it had a nice kick, striking a balance without being overpowering. I went for the chimichanga filled with asada, and the steak was cooked to perfection—well-seasoned and tender. The rest of the chimichanga, while lightly seasoned, could have packed a bit more flavor; I’ve had chimichangas with richer tastes in the past, so I would have enjoyed a bit more complexity. Nevertheless, it was still quite good, and the meat itself was exceptional. My companions chose different platters featuring beef and shrimp, both of which they found enjoyable. The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. While the prices were slightly higher than some comparable restaurants I've seen, they were still reasonable considering the quality of the food. I will definitely be coming back!

Met up with a small group of friends for dinner on a Friday night. The restaurant wasn't too busy, with only 2 other tables occupied. Once our entire table arrived (6 people total) and got situated, we had to wait a little bit until our server actually took our orders. To be fair, he was the only one working front of house, but by the time we ordered, we were the only table left in the restaurant. Throughout our dinner, server was very unprofessional. He sat at the front cashier desk and watched movies/videos and talked on the phone quite loudly. At one point, we heard the kitchen ring a bell numerous times to bring out our desserts, but our server was preoccupied on his personal phone. Now on to the food. The refried beans that accompanied most dishes was extremely salty. I ordered the Quesa Birria Tacos. Unfortunately the beef stew dip for the tacos was basically an oil slick with no flavor. When we paid our bill, our server disappeared to the kitchen and never returned again. Not impressed with the food or service. Best thing about this place is BYOB, with a beer store next to the restaurant and a wine/spirits across.

Middle of the road for me. Nothing was terrible it is just wasn't great either. Quick breakdown is as follows: Pros: Friendly service and quick turn around to get our food (but we were one of only two tables there on a Friday for lunch). Cons: Price point for what you get isn't great value. No ice tea as drink option. With all the other little Mexican places in the immediate area I doubt I will venture back here except for if I am with a large group.
