Lunch is available from 11 AM to 1 PM, Monday through Thursday, while school is in session. It's wise to check the website to confirm they are open and to make reservations for larger groups. Two of us opted for the well-chilled Vichyssoise potato leek soup as an appetizer ($4.00). It was decent, although I found it lacking in onion flavor, but then again, I make an excellent Vichyssoise myself! For our main courses, two of us went for the Steelhead served over a cauliflower cake ($12.00). It was delicious, although the portion was small. The fish was cooked to perfection—soft and flaky—accompanied by a light broth that nicely complemented the flavorful thin cauliflower cake. One friend ordered a small lamb shank wrapped in something green—perhaps a vegetable? He didn’t comment on it, which made me suspect he wasn’t particularly impressed. Only one of us decided to try dessert, opting for a dark chocolate tart. We all had our hearts set on a strawberry Zabaglione, but unfortunately, they had run out of ingredients. My total for the soup and fish came to $18.00. Overall, it was an enjoyable lunch and a great way to support the school and its students. The head chef and instructor made the rounds, visiting each table to chat with diners. Service was excellent, provided by a young first-year student. One aspect I particularly appreciated was the quiet atmosphere—conversing didn’t require shouting. It’s a serene restaurant, a rarity these days. Unfortunately, the retail bakery was closed during my visit, so I missed out on the delicious baked goods I used to buy years ago. If you’re in the southwest region of Seattle, I highly recommend visiting the Alhadeff Grill to support the students and experience what they have to offer.
This place deserves a line stretching around the block. Although it’s a student-run kitchen in name only, the food here puts many Seattle restaurants to shame. You won't find better meals for the price anywhere else. Chef instructor Josh warmly greeted every table with a friendly and humorous demeanor. I highly recommend this restaurant!
The food here is truly outstanding! I visited for lunch and it was the best meal I've had all year, and very reasonably priced. You're really missing out if you haven't been here yet. Just a heads up, they don't serve alcohol and they're only open for lunch. I definitely plan to return!
