Le Peche du Pilat - Malleval

Malleval is reached up a narrow winding road and care should be taken. Le Peche du Pilat sits in the centre of the village.The restaurant has a shady terrace, which is delightful when there aren't smokers around.Menus start at €15.50 and €26.50 gets you a first class meal. The food is prepared by a chef with talent, delicious and beautifully presented.On the €26.50 menu we got an ambushed bouche of puréed beetroot mixed with smoked salmon which as excellent. Our starters were foie gras (beautiful) and a tartare de thin presented with passion fruit and a vodka gel. We had the magret de canard as mains - perfectly cooked, with a lovely mix of vegetables and potatoes. Dessert was a chocolate praline.This is an excellent restaurant, well worth a vat.
