Route 16 Diner - Malden

This charming roadside diner captures the classic vibe and offers excellent service. Our meals were spot on—exactly what we had hoped for!

AVOID BREAKFAST AT THIS PLACE. Just keep driving. Our family had a terrible experience with both the service and the food. The only thing colder than our meals was the service we received. The whole wheat toast was the only thing we found acceptable to eat.

First time for us, we're definitely coming back! I had teaWe started sharing a delicious clam chowder full of large pieces of clam. Will probably rank among the top clam chowders we've ever had. My wife ordered the lobster club, she switched out the fries for a large order of onion ring..s for us to share. I ordered The Big Mess. I requested mine topped with lobster. A base of home fries topped with bacon, sausage, mushrooms, 2 eggs and hollandaise. My wife wanted a slice of apple pie. I was full, but had a bite. Nice crust, crisp apples and just a hint of cinnamon. So much left over, only because of the huge servings. A find for us!

Fries with the works was serious....sooo full, got left overs and will stop here again. Service was excellent, place was clean.

We had lunch before heading to PEI a lobster clubhouse and lobster stew. They gave us the choice of home fries or frozen. Of course we chose the home fries, and recommend that you do too. Everything was fresh, homemade and tasty totally hit the spot. Also got to sample their ready to debut menu item mussels!
