Oz-Thai - Maitland

Ive never met a man so overdue to get out of hospitality. The chef, what I'm assuming is also the owner, has zero customer service. No hello what can I get you when I entered- just a yes? Like I was bothering him being there. I asked if I could get the pork buns, a green chicken curry & coconut rice. The pork buns that were on a photo board are only for the markets apparently, but it didn't say that anywhere. The curry & rice were a good size & reasonably priced.He also speaks to his staff, possibly the lady was his wife, in the most disgusting way I've ever heard. If its an employed staff member they should start a bullying claim against him.Throwing the f bomb 3 times while I waited for my dinner as well as yelling in the kitchen & putting whoever it was cooking down, saying it was wrong & they had to throw it out & how stupid they were that they couldn't get that right.The only other people in the restaurant was a couple with their child & they would have heard it all too. Shame as the food is actually delicious. But does not outweigh the rudeness & total lack of customer service shown by this man. Id give it a zero star rating if I could

Didnt care about the tattered torn gaffa-taped menu...didnt care about the shabby decor...because we thought the food would speak for itself sadly we were mistaken. Having eaten in a lot of thai restaurants both in Thailand and Australia I can safely say this is the worst thai Ive ever had. Tom yum was essentially hot chilli water and lacked the basic ingredients for a tom yum, the rice was burnt which left a disgusting flavour. The entire experience was extremely dissatisfying. Save your money go somewhere else.

Run by a couple who work hard. A cheap eats place but not cheap on the style, quality and quantity of the meals. Not a large place that does take way meals also. Cost for two meals and side dishes around the $60.

Ordered take away from Oz Thai wanting to give it a try, unfortunately it wasn't good. The chicken skewers were very over done and unpleasant. The sauce was watery and just not enjoyable. Massamun Curry was much the same, the sauce was like watered down jar variety.Spring Rolls passable, but overall very average fare.

We've been here many times and always come away satisfied and not complaining about the cost. The food is basic and generous and served simply. The decor isn't flash but then you're not paying for it either. We will go back again.
