Ken's Kitchen - Maitland

This restaurant has been around in Maitland for a very long time. Currently they are open standard Chinese restaurant hours (closed Mondays) and offer a good buffet selection as a lunch option. $12.70 will get you a small bottle of coke and a large plate\container of chinese on a bed of rice or noodles. There's a good selection and the quality of the dishes is good. I highly recommend getting there as close to midday as possible though.

Lunch time we went, regulars over the years, but not recently, as live out of area. We ate in, Husband had the lunch special, and I'm a bit fussy, and I ordered a meal from menu, asked many questions prior, the meals came out reasonably quickly, and my dish was as I was told it would be. Meal was fresh and tasty. We will for sure order the same dish off the menu again and be returning very soon. Can get very busy over lunch time, with a line up. Lunch special served out of Bain Marie, take aways and dine in, dining in can get squashy. Always see all ages eating in. Friendly service.

Who dares, wins. Or so they say. I don't even know if there is actually a kitchen at Ken's but there is heaps of food and it's cheap.It looks like a dodgy Chinese take away and it probably is. Don't let that stop you though. We take work mates here regularly as part of the initiation. We haven't lost anyone yet. Excellent value.Hot tip: plow on through, enjoy it, don't feel guilty.

I've been here a few times and had a take away lunch special. The food is always cooked fresh and is good value. It is however quite Westernised Chinese food.

Dishes are lovely and lots of flavour, never have disappointed me. Their Fried rice is amazing and I honestly cannot go to any of Chinese takeaway because nothing tastes as good as Ken's.
