Restaurant Dionysos Griechische Spezialitaten

Really delicious food and a great menu, also some excellent Greek red wines. Atmosphere was lovely and the staff were fantastic, received a very warm welcome. A wonderful find.

The Mainz Novotel has a soulless restaurant. Walk 5 minutes to this Greek restaurant (or the 2 other restaurants nearby). At the Restaurant Dionysos Mainz I had the Lamb kebaps and they were good. The English menu was helpful. What could be improved? Serving local German (Hesse) wine would be good. The Greek wine was thin. Sorry!

A kind of traditional Greek Style restaurant as they came up in Germany in the last 40 years. Adapted to German taste buds. But very good at that. Can only recommend the Metaxa Sauce. Meat is also ways deliciously spiced. Would not know of a better one anywhere in Mainz.

I heard that the food is nice so decided to give it a go with some friends. We took our seats outside and proceeded to wait for someone to come and serve us. About 10 minutes later came a big man who shouted that it is raining and he couldn't serve us and there were no free tables inside. So we left. Tried again today, with my daughter, to have a coffee and a hot chocolate but as we sat down the same man came by and claimed the kitchen was closed it was actually 15 minutes to 3. He was also rude in the way he spoke to us. I was too generous to give it another chance. Perhaps the food is good but we never got to find out.

A very Cousy restaurant in the historic part of Mainz, a few steps from Kästrich Gautour that offer real delicious Greek food. The is portion Big the service is friendly and very good! They offer a Shot Ouzo free too!
