Restaurant Am Bassenheimer Hof - Mainz

Very nice restaurant in small old town street, down bistro and above restaurant. cards almost identical, eat very tasty and prices human, in the restaurant a little higher. service young, beautiful and attentive. wee naturally primarily from the environment. who doesn't like German weeping, unfortunately, has to pay 50€ for an Italian.

My wife and I have eaten several times in this restaurant last year 2016 and were always very satisfied with the quality of the service and the meals. we rated our visits in november and December 2015 at ``Tripadvisor ́ with 5 stars and wrote very complementary reviews. if we had a reservation, we always traveled with public transport means so that we could both enjoy the exquisite wines offered. with the train back and taxi back: travel costs approx. 80€. we have always reserved the same table in the restaurant, although we have occasionally eaten without reservation and one of us has remained sober (no drink and drive). Nevertheless, we never had a bill plus drink money of less than €200. As in the previous year we have reserved to celebrate our high-time day on December 30, 2016 at 19:00. we told the man who accepted our reservation, the position of our favorite table in the restaurant and he told us that this was not a problem. he asked and we gave him our phone number. shortly before the agreed time we arrived at the bassenheimer hof, climbed up the stairs to the restaurant and entered a warm, well-lit room. all the tables were decorated, but the place was empty; no guests, no personal. After waiting for 5-10 minutes and knocked with the feet, my wife went down the stairs to talk to a worker of the bistros. Shortly later she called me and asked me to come down the stairs to the bistro where she told me that the restaurant was closed on the top floor. while we discussed the situation, the waiter of the bistros told me that the restaurant is closed, but, no problem; we were able to pick a table in the bistro. (he had shown my wife the reservation list. we were listed by name, wish: “mostly up” – what was wrong in itself, time and telephone). his only answer to our rejection of this solution was an anxious. we certainly didn't want to celebrate our high-time day in a bistro and feel self-evident. After they had requested our phone number, they did not have the courtesy to make a call and inform us about the changes. we will not give this facility in future any opportunity to repeat this behavior, as we no longer want to feed in this restaurant and we will certainly not want to recommend the place to friends.

Eat na yes - service slow. 4 courses lasted about 3 hours. Settings under the roof - not so cozy.

What was on the tellers can be highlighted unrestricted positiw. also the possibility to compile menu items individually should be gouted.The fact that common rheingauer riesling have been expelled after the second bottle must not happen.Also, if from about 16 to 20 places in the bistro in the eg are only 6 occupied, it is more than rude to listen with unpaid loudness and pepstones to a call responder before dessert.

The restaurant am bassenheimer hof has pleased us very well, the meals were excellent from a to z, the service very friendly and dedicated and the ambiente also very appealing. after a greeting from the kitchen, we had a delicious gorgonzolasoufflé on Williamsbirnen-Quitten sauce. especially recommended and tasty are the on the point successful tournedos from the rinderfilet with fried cervicals, sauce from old balsamico
