Lay Maikhao Seafood - Mai Khao

It is located on the Maikhao side near the Holiday Inn hotel. The fruit of the sea, very good contact with children from the kelnerki side.

My party of 4 adults went there after looking at reviews on Google Maps. When we called to make a reservation, they offered to come pick us up from our hotel along Mai Khao area. The owner Meow came promptly to pick us up and drove us to the restaurant. The location is quite deep in, away from the main road. We selected our dinner from the fresh seafood on display, and waited for our dinner. We had a total of 8 dishes of fresh steamed fish, grilled squid, prawns, stir fried blue crab in chilli paste, clam soup, fried morning glory and 2 portions of fried rice, 4 fresh coconuts and 1 bottle of Chang beer. The very reasonable bill surprised us as all that cost under THB2000! The food was excellent, very tasty and very fresh. We saw many people walk to the restaurant next to Lay Maikhao. They really don’t know what they are missing. We were totally satisfied and this was a great dinner for us to end our holiday in Phuket. We will be back on our next trip here! Lots of menu options without being overwhelming. Cooked fresh to order, so a little wait for food which was expected. Friendly service, good English spoken, credit card payment possible.Steamed squid with lime juice was delicious. Fried crab with yellow curry powder was nice, though none of us thought we'd be eating it shell and all when we ordered it! Chicken with mixed veg was tasty too. That and the squid came with steamed rice (I think). Small beer 60Baht, large beer 100. Large water I think was 50. A complimentary fruit plate was served for dessert.Atmosphere was nice, food great at a decent price. What's not to love? Expect we'll return again once or twice during our stay...

Very tasty food with friendly people. I know there are another 2 restaurants next to this place (haven't try yet) but this place make me come back because their food and service. Food are very tasty, cheap price (we paid ~300bt for this meal, with free fruits for dessert), and people are very friendly. About 1' walking from Holiday Inn resort Maikhao. Highly recommend!

We ate here three times, each time maximum satisfaction with a well flavored Thai food.
