Restaurant Petriforder GmbH - Magdeburg

Nice to sit and watch river Elbe. The menu choice is good but cooking does not meet expectations at least for the prices asked for. The wine selection is ok, the one of beers is much better. Service is just good average.

It's a shame. This restaurant is right on the Elbe River...great water views...so much potential. However, I have to agree with the other reviewers about the staff. Upon arriving, we were "greeted" bya grumpy, nonsmiling waiter who turned out to be our waiter. He was grumpy the entire evening, and never checked on us for more drinks, to see if we needed anything....nothing! The food is good, but the staff there needs lessons in customer service -with a smile. We expected more.

We came here with a group of friends, expecting to have an ice cream. Nevertheless, we had to wait approximately 30 min just to receive the menu. Then nobody came to receive our order...there were more concerned about folding napkins than about their clients. The service was so bad that we ended up leaving the place without eating any ice cream. For the way they have behaved I think they were not friendly because we were not European foreigners. I won't never ever go there again!

Having stopped for a drink before a river cruise we were impressed by the range of drinks especially the cocktails. However when we came to pay it was made clear that paying by card would be a problem, even though a nearby table had done so, which meant we had to pay cash . Then on return we decided to have another drink, accepting that we would probably have to pay cash, but although there were free tables we were left with no choice but to leave. It might well have been a good place to eat but we were not given a chance to find out. A very high handed attitude. We were made very welcome at the beach bar 500 yards away.
