Appam And Hoppers - Madurai

This was a unique cuisine of delightful appams. I asked for no spice and was accommodated. It is a family run restaurant . The owner speaks English. She made appropriate recommendations for my palate. The service was excellent. Nice change of pace.

Appams were fine Side dishes were average can really be avoided In order to enjoy the appam, a side or curry is a must which was missing in this place Ceylon Parantha was nice filling The place could have been a bit more improvised Certainly, not a WoW feeling but an average one

I've been to both Appam and Hoppers restaurants in Madurai on several occasions. We've always been really well looked after, and the Appam's are delicious. The Mutton gravy in the combo is quite lacking in actual meat, but the gravy flavour goes so well with the appam that I happily order it anyway. We've found that the taste of the prawn fry differed between the two restaurants, but both are tasty. The advantages of the JC Redidency location are the lovely roof top and the ability to have a cool beer with dinner.

Appam was very nice.. especially egg appam..good taste..it's a house modified into hotel..if you want to taste different cusine try this

Me n my family was staying in J C Residency Madurai ,so v decided to have 31st dec dinner at APPAM N HOPPERS resturant Which is on the roof top of the hotel ,v went with my family n in laws..ordered appam as it's the name of the restaurant ,they served us only 3 as v r four of us ,after some time v told them plz give us more as v ordered 4 ,v waited for 15mnts ,then I went to see WHAT I FOUND WAS APPAM BATTER IS OVER ,as it was only 9.40 pm at night ,PLUS NEW YEAR EVE AND RESTURANT NAME IS APPAM What a joke it was n still they r saying it will take 10 mnts only to come...I dont know how they r managing the things n it was a big shock n disappointment ...big flop ,poor management n big zero for everything, never experienced such a horrible restaurant in my life ,spoiled my 31st eve...v ordered chicken which has more of water than pieces, plus dal which is thankfully ok n veg gravy which was fair Plus served with only 3 Appam ,after that wait ,wait n wait n came without proper dinner... BIG BIG ZERO N FLOP
