I joined my girlfriend and her friends for a few hours of drinks and food. After her friends left around 9 PM, we stayed a bit longer to finish our drinks and chat privately. During our conversation, we had a disagreement that escalated into a heated discussion at the corner of the bar. By then, the dining area was closed, and there were only 4-5 patrons at the bar, mostly sitting alone. We were mildly under the influence after spending about $150 together and were probably louder than usual, but we felt it was still acceptable for a bar atmosphere at that time. After about 30 minutes, a bartender named Guy approached us. He began by saying he didn’t want to get involved, but felt we needed to leave because we had been "bickering" for too long. I was taken aback and questioned how it was fair to be asked to leave under those circumstances. My girlfriend, trying to ease the tension, mentioned their status as regulars and reassured him we didn’t intend to cause any disruption. We assumed we were simply being asked to quiet down. Unexpectedly, he then made a comment about “drawing the line at domestic abuse.” This was shocking and unfounded, as it suggested that I was abusive toward my girlfriend—an accusation that could not be further from the truth. My girlfriend vehemently defended me, clarifying that I would never harm her and that we love each other. Guy then attempted to clarify that he meant my girlfriend might be the abuser, which frankly felt absurd and inappropriate. Why was the bartender eavesdropping on our private conversation instead of simply addressing us if we were too loud? This was a serious matter, and I believe he jumped to conclusions without proper communication. Overall, we felt that we were unfairly treated, especially as loyal patrons who frequently spend a significant amount at your establishment. To clarify, my girlfriend and I have never laid a hand on each other, nor do we intend to; we truly care for one another. While I understand that as bartenders or owners, you reserve the right to manage your space, I believe this was an unjustified situation.

Waypoint is a great spot for lunch. It can get a bit noisy with everyone chatting, but the location by the water is lovely, and I look forward to visiting in the summer. For lunch, the price range is around $20–30 per person. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at 4 out of 5. I recommend trying the brisket and sandwiches!
