The vegetable rainbow sushi roll was great, and the seaweed salad (although it probably was dyed with green food coloring). The house salad wasn't horrible, but a sign of a place with not environmentally-conscious sourced food. However, they're service and artistry with the food adds a note of appreciation to what they do.
I got full off of my drink waiting for my rolls bc it was so darn hot outside! I cant wait to go again though. This is the Lady Gaga roll and a rainbow roll. I ordered the pink lady roll (no picture but highly recommend) also we got the crab roll (dee-lish) this place made me happy to be in Madison bc it has that downtown charm.
The food here is fantastic! While the menu primarily features Japanese cuisine, they've also blended in some American and Chinese dishes, making it a hit for everyone. However, the restaurant is often understaffed, typically with just one waitress on duty. As a result, the service can be quite slow and frustrating.
Don't judge a book by its cover! I was a bit worried about the exterior appearance of the restaurant, but I'm so glad we decided to give it a try. The sushi was fantastic, and the sashimi was excellent. The service was on point, although communication was a bit challenging at times, which made for a fun experience. We even asked the chef to take a photo with us, and she was delighted to do so. The prices were very reasonable! Our usual spot, Reds, was fully booked, and I'm so glad we ended up here. I would definitely return and plan to do so!
I visited this restaurant during my trip to Madison, and I was truly impressed. The customer service here was outstanding compared to what I'm used to in my hometown. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. I particularly enjoyed the dumplings and miso soup.
