Nam's Noodle Karaoke - Madison

We called ahead to reserve a table at this restaurant, but were told that online reservations were the only option. We made a reservation online, but when we arrived, our table had been given away because we had called before the designated time. We were told that waiting was the only way to possibly get a table, but it was not guaranteed. When we asked about compensation for losing our reservation, we were only offered 30 minutes at a table. We felt let down by the lack of service and organization, as we had followed the instructions given to us. The communication from the server was excellent, but the overall experience was disappointing. This restaurant needs to improve in informing customers if their reservation is not guaranteed.

I came here for a first date 5 years ago and I have never looked back. My partner and I still make the drive to Madison for the best pho and spring rolls in the city. I always recommend Nams Nudel!

The portion size of the spring rolls here is too large for me, and the pho lacks flavor compared to the pho I had in Vietnam. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend this place to pho lovers.

How to work the karaoke machines: searching for an artist is done by initials. For example, searching for Britney Spears is B S, Fall Out Boy is F O B, Madonna is just M. Good luck. It's not the easiest interface, but intuitive enough once you figure the search part out. The speakers sound great. Decent and relatively up to date song selection. Didn't have super deep cuts, but it was pretty broad. For example, we were able to sing a my chemical romance song and then a good bluegrass song right afterwards.Besides that, all the appetizers were delicious. The beer selection was good enough and we had a good time with the pitchers. We got one entree that tasted pretty mediocre, like frozen food heated up in a microwave.

Spring roll here is too big for me. And the pho here tastes too bland, compared the pho I eaten in Vietnam. So I will not recommend the pho lovers to go.
