Honey Jug - Madison

The dining experience was fantastic with generous portion sizes. Without a doubt, they serve the best sweet tea around. The restaurant is exceptionally clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly!

Fantastic spot! It's well worth the drive from Madison or Versailles. I tried the Cowboy 1/2 Burger special, which came topped with BBQ sauce, onion straws, and bacon, along with a side of potato wedges. The BBQ sauce was generous, and everything was absolutely delicious! The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was laid-back. It wasn't crowded for a late lunch or early dinner, and there are both indoor and outdoor seating options. This place was recommended by the DNR crew at the campsite, and I can see why!

This is a great local restaurant with a charming old-school bar vibe. They serve generous portions at affordable prices, and you can choose to dine indoors or outdoors. The staff is friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere.

I love hole-in-the-wall restaurants so try Honey Jug was on my list since the move to Madison. I'm glad I did. Everything is fresh, which is a slower service experience, but it is worth it. The fried mushrooms are excellent. The fish, the chicken sandwich and the zartoin were good — not fantastic but very firm. Crinkle cut hairs are my favorite. Sweet tea is not syrup sweet. Prices are better than expected. A very good first experience and I will be back.

I absolutely LOVE this place! Went there for the first time today, and the food was just amazing. Incomparable to any other Mom and Pop shop, and 95% of any other restaurant. And the staff? They were more respectful than any restaurant I've been to yet, and treated my husband and I, with the utmost respect.
