H & H Restaurant - Macon

The food was amazing! We went for breakfast/brunch three days in a row and it was consistently awesome. The wait staff was extremely efficient . We were visiting from Maryland and these girls made us feel like family and I’m giving HUGE props to the cooks that work incredibly hard. We requested to purchase some of their unique “bacon jam” but they were out. We were told a request was put in and they would try to make some fresh for us. When we went back next day we were able to purchase a large jar freshly made. Where else can you get service like that? Thanks to everyone there for making our “Macon experience “ quite memorable.

They have great service and great authentic soul food. It is my first time I've tried Hop N Jon peas, fried chicken, fried okra, and with a Coke and a smile. This restaurant is a Southern Rock museum while you enjoy food and music that fills your tummy and your soul music heart.

The only better fried chicken I have ever had was my Nana’s. The fried chicken at H&H was a very close second or maybe a tie (sorry Nana). Since my Nana has passed, I guess this is the best fried chicken around. The fried okra was the best I have ever had. I also had some of their potato salad which was damned near perfect. Yummy mac and cheese and mashed potatoes too (I sampled my daughter’s food)! We were so stuffed, but we split some delicious banana pudding anyway. The service was great. We waddled the Hell out of there stuffed and satisfied. They play great music: The Band, Steve Miller Band and, of course, THE ALLMAN BROTHERS! Stop by. You won’t regret it, unless you are on a diet. Don’t forget to get yourself a t-shirt!

A little different than a few years ago when Mama Louise had it, but the flavor and soul is still there, you can feel the rich musical history with every bite. Always worth stopping by, ya never know who could be willing in the door. I hope the decor stays the same forever.

Absolutely delicious food, the restaurant is tiny but eclectic with tons of history. Service was good and the place was packed.
