Guincho A Galera - Macau

Very pleasant meal. The grilled octopus salad is very heavy with a lot of oil BUT it is delicious with well cooked garlic. Definitely would need to share this salad w 3 ppl minimum. It’s ingredients has no vegetables other than the potato and garlic. Also had the clams with rice and it was also great. Big portion so good for sharing. Both these were chef recommendations. Lastly, the bread for appetizers came free but on the menu it does say 20MOP. It was also a quiet evening and service was nice. Ordered the pudding to take out cuz I was too full to eat dessert in house.

An embarrassment to Portuguese cuisine! We Portuguese are extremely proud of our food and a great thing about real fine dinning Portuguese restaurants is that they manage to reinvent dishes while keeping the awesome flavors. None of this was true at Guincho A Galera! The Caldo Verde (literally green soup tasted like a totally different and blant soup. In general the element of dishes are not connected whatsoever and don 't add a thing to the main food. On top of all this, my Bacalhau gratinado came with raw potatoes and it was not more than tons o Bechamel source with an extremely poor quality cod fish. On top of this, I was presented with a huge fish bone (over 5cm long . Showed it to the waitress, who said she will tell it to the chef, but never even got an apology... Extremely rude...

We went on Friday night for dinner. The waiter( Portuguese) was friendly. Food was really good, we loved the most the squid salad with potatoes. Good portion of food and good hygiene. Recommended if you want to try Portuguese food near St. Paul church.

The decoration is very traditional but grand. Service is ok and house wine is so so. However the sea bass baked with salt bread is very tasty. The highlight is definitely their dessert trolley. Not only it is cheap (only MOP 90 for a selection of 3 items) but the quality is good too. Only one drawback is that they are not traditional Portuguese desserts.

Large Portuguese restaurant wine couple lunch is so good!! Good service and environment
