The corn and beetroot dish was disappointing, as the beetroot seemed to be just for show and lacked flavor. The atmosphere seemed to be trying too hard to recreate a 1950s Australian backyard dinner. The pita bread was so thin it was almost see-through, and the food overall was bland and lacking in spice. The "real chai" turned out to be a powdered sweet drink. The mushroom stack was just button mushrooms on toast. It seems like they got a good deal on feta, spinach, and avocado, as they were featured in multiple dishes. Both the avocado in my wife's dish and the mushroom stack had a strange aftertaste. The coffee was the only highlight of the meal.
Weizen und Hafer is located at 22 Colbee Court in Phillip. The seating outside is limited, similar to Manolo which is nearby. I enjoyed their milk coffee and found the staff to be very friendly. Although MJJ mentioned that the prices were higher compared to other places, I personally preferred the coffee here. They have an outdoor area, but there are steep steps immediately behind it which may not be suitable for dogs. The outdoor area is only open in the summer and can get quite hot, so I preferred sitting in the shaded area at the front. The interior is spacious. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 7am to 3pm, Saturday from 8am to 2pm, and Sunday from 8am to 1pm. There is a grass area in front of the café which was convenient for my dogs, who brought their own poop bags. Public trash cans and a restroom are also available nearby.
The food at this restaurant is amazing! The coffee, chai, and hot chocolate were all fantastic options for breakfast. The hash browns were the best I've ever had. I will definitely be returning!
I have a bulgogi burger and coffee this morning. take these strange times out. we have never taken out, but what can be done in these times of COVID-19. the burger was delicious and the hash brown remained crispy and warm on the trip to the house. the best for the coming weeks. we're coming back.
I visited Wheat Oats on a quiet Wednesday morning. I had the Korean Brekkie burger and a flat white coffee. The burger was delicious. It had bulgogi beef which was so tender and juicy. This was a great change to the usual bacon and...eggs combo. The hash browns on the side were very crispy and perfect. The coffee was good but a little hot for my taste. The meal came to $20 which is very reasonable for the size and quality. I will definitely be back and will bring friends and family
