Contribuiți la feedbackIf you're in lyon, go to a bouchon. it's great. you can order a la carte or a Prix mix with options for all three courses. my Prix-Fixe was an salat lyonnais [with Jumbo-Krebsen and a generous amount of pork flour,] leber in. a multile mushroom sauce with au gratinkartoffeln and a carrots/moushrooms medley plus a dessert consisting of espresso, four small desserts and whipped cream. the place was packed, ie it could be a good idea to make a reservation. a small hiccup with my beer was the only minor mistake to a great meal. the waiters work out their back and help each other, even the owner bursts in. they can even buy a small cookbook re recipes.
My wife and I returned to this restaurant in October 2022 with their two sisters and a friend representing four states. my wife and I have eaten here before earlier traveling to lyon. it was a reason to come. my wife and I are. long time traveling to france for business travelers and pleasures. we didn't know what to do about this special restaurant years ago. we would eat exceptionally well in highly rated, haute cuisine restaurants. we wanted something else. we wanted to eat excellent in a relaxed atmosphere. this place. Although in this case relaxed, this place revitalizes with people who are human, relaxing, talking. waiter crash here and there, pleasant, good humorous and talk like normal people. are they not speaking French? they will be able to cope if they do it or not. there is in the rule a line outside, since it is also packed in the most desirable hours. don't let you go. they check the line and will give in the rule a rough estimate of the waiting and it is worthwhile if they are not pressed for the time. i. the tables are close together, but not unhappy. they just meet them halfway away never seen anyone who doesn't. but the star of this restaurant and the other top buchons is obviously eating. all by local manufacturers within the region lyon. the sweet is fresher, the meat is grown and smoked in the spot. it is beautifully boiled in a fairly simple bistro style, but above the usual up totro. I am not a lover of andouillette, here it is excellent. I had a bark fillet in st. Marcelin sauce. just about perfect, unlike what they could expect, how it could be the case with others if they are not used to bistro food. the ravioli I tasted was good as the pike soufflé. all found eating well. there were main dishes I didn't taste, but I didn't hear any unfortunate noises in the room. the menu will change with daily specials or changes in the season or in the offer, but I never had a unsatisfactory meal. the restaurant can be full and busy, but no one is rushed. if they have a pleasure, to lobster, drink or coffee after eating. but the service is fast without crashing. so they keep the line out. we were in only us and as many as five. it gets a little more difficult, I think after six. if they have time, they try another bouchon or two. that's my favorite.
I had a wonderful time here enjoying the typical lyonnais kitchen with my friends who are native from the opposite, and I have enjoyed the hospitality and friendly attention of the staff. must be over in lyon at every visit!
Had a very good traditional meal at this Lyon bouchon. I found the place in my Rick Steves book and made a reservation for a Saturday night dinner. I shared a large table with other diners, which made for a nice cozy atmosphere. The service...was excellent as was the food. I ordered a steak with a great sauce and it went very well with the local table wine. Steak was well cooked and tender and the sauce was amazing. The chocolate cake for dessert was incredibly rich and was a great way to finish the meal.
I read good comments on this buchon so we booked a table for two for lunch. I must say it is a big disappointment. Okay, I saw the local people eating here and they seemed very happy and enjoying their food. It might be just...my bad luck getting the wrong dish, however, I have to write about my own experience. I wasn’t happy with the food. I must say the staff are friendly and its atmosphere is really nice. I ordered liver cake with tomato sauce. It was ok. I had a smillar starter in a different buchon it was far better than this but it one was ok. The main course was the problem. it was almost inedible. I ordered veal tripe like an escalope) served with potatoes. The tripe had no flavour, no salt , no pepper, or any kind of flavour yet it had very strong metallic taste. Yes very strong, very of putting metallic taste. It might be because of the pans they use I don’t. Cooked vegetables had an odd taste very oily. The only edible thing on that plate was creamy potatoes. Even that wasn’t the best one I ever thad. This buchon’s fixed menu is far more expensive than others other places offer a fixed menu roughly for 25 Euros) . We paid for 37 Euros. 37 Euros for three courses hardly worth the money for something not edible. Not recommended.
