Bull Cafe - Lyon

We had been walking through downtown Lyon, from the Basilica through the Rue de Boeuf and all the way up the many many stairs to the Place de la Croix Rousse, where we decided to take a break and get something to nosh on and have a nice cold drink. We found this little cafe with an inviting patio facing directly across the Place de la Croix Rousse and decided to give it a try. A nice, Gothic looking guy waved us over as we were also all dressed in black. He introduced himself as Benoit and we had a delightful conversation while Kevin took our order. I had a nice cold beer (Licorne Authentique 5 Euros while my wife had a wonderful glass of Rose D'Oc (2.30 Euros . We also ordered a cheese and meat board, which was huge and came with all kinds of meat, cheese, bread, cherry tomatoes and pickles and there was so much food we couldn't even finish it off and it was so cheap (only 12 Euros!!! . We stayed there for about an hour talking with other customers and enjoying watching people walk through the Place de la Croix Rousse. What a delightful time we had there it was a nice break on such a hot day but we still had miles to go to see more of Lyon. Our entire bill came to 19.30 Euros and we were so happy that Kevin made some nice recommendations for us! We would return in a second!

Café de quartier plein de vie! staff charm.

Beautiful place, small terrace with views of the Place de la Croix-Rousse. Tonic server, and pleasant. foam for some and mojito for others.
