I used to like coming here once in a while with my fiancée if we're both craving pho and happen to be around the area. The bulk of my review has to do with the waiter that was rude to us the last time we were here. One of the waiters came up to us while we were eating and demanded us (didn't politely ask) to put the menus back against the wall. While I do understand the intent of wanting to keep the menus in good shape it's common sense as a waiter to take the menus back after we have ordered or to politely wait until we have finished. It's both incredibly rude and unsanitary to get in a customers face while they are in mid bite over something so minor.Lastly, the food is okay their vermicelli pork noodle bowl is delicious, but their bánh mì sandwiches are such a disappointment : Each time I have ordered one, the bread is stale and hard as a brick, with very little seasoning and vegetables, which leave each bite obnoxiously dry.
Authentic Pho ran by a family style group of people I believe. They also serve Bubble Tea and pretty popular.Note: doesn't accept AMEX credit card.
I haven't dined at Pho Nguyen’s House before, but I have ordered some sandwiches To Go. I wish they have the combination sandwich. Since they didn't make it, we ordered the grilled pork, beef, and ham sandwiches. We paid $66, including tips for six sandwiches. The grilled pork was a bit runny; there was plenty of mayo and other sauces. Taste-wise, it's okay. The beef sandwiches were a bit dry beside the lard they put on there. The best out of the three is the ham sandwiches. It has a good balance of sweetness, salt, and no-dropping sauce. My wife and I ate a bit of the other ones but ended up tossing some of them away. The is based the on the sandwiches and not the dining.
I used to like this place until they crossed the line and automatically charged my card 18 percent only because I brought three small kids with me to eat. They didn't even give an advance warning. I have no problem leaving 18 percent or higher tip for great service but it was horrible and they constantly forgot to get anything we asked. We did get dirty looks and rushed to eat our food fast. Pho soup was mostly hot water, little broth, little noodle, little meat.
