Josie's - Lyndhurst

The food here is fantastic! The dinner with meat and drinks was incredible, and the burgers are excellent as well. It's another wonderful dining option alongside Fairmont Eats in Hackensack.

Great pizza. Probably my favorite in the area. If you are looking for a classic NJ pizzeria slice, that is where you go. It is not all that it is not just good old school solid pizza that is safe to impress. And that says a lot in the northern NJ where there is no lack of solid pizza.

On my second-to-last visit, I went to pick up our usual order and noticed that the bill was significantly higher than normal. When I asked the young woman behind the counter about it, she promptly informed me that prices had increased, and new menus were on their way, but hadn't arrived yet. I understood that meat prices were rising and that many restaurants were adjusting their prices accordingly. No big deal—I paid the higher amount and went home to enjoy our wonderful meal. However, I was still concerned about how significant the price increase was. During my last visit, despite being disheartened by the rising prices, we still loved their food and wanted to support Josie's, so we ordered our usual again. I went to pick up the food, and the price had jumped an additional $4. This struck me as quite odd, and I began to question the previous increase. I checked with another young woman behind the counter about the new prices, and she confirmed that the prices had indeed changed and that the new menus were being printed. I realized that it was unlikely the prices had suddenly decreased within a week. After paying and taking my food home, I began to reflect on our $4 dilemma. As I mentally went through our order, it dawned on me that during my first visit, I had been charged separately for garlic bread, which actually came with my chicken parm dinner. When there hasn’t been a chance for customers to see the new pricing, it’s the restaurant's responsibility to ensure customers are aware of the current prices. The young woman during my second-to-last visit should have been knowledgeable about our order and its cost. We felt frustrated about being charged an extra $4 without any justification. While $4 isn't a financial burden for us, it felt misleading. If the new menus had been available during my previous visits, I could have identified the issue myself and addressed it in the restaurant. In short, we were disappointed that the staff made such a careless error during this visit, which is why we only rate Josie's 3 stars—5 stars for the food and 1 star for service. Update: I’ve tried several times to reach the owners through various channels, but they have been unresponsive and inaccessible.

Excellent pizza? and they do much for the community!

The grilled chicken Caesar pizza was outstanding. The garlic knots were mostly delicious, but a few pieces were a bit too crispy (not burnt, though). While it is somewhat pricey, the rising costs due to inflation are understandable. Overall, it surpasses other pizzerias I've visited in the area. I would definitely recommend it. My parents were pleasantly surprised to discover such great pizza, especially since it's tough to find good pizza in New York these days. I will definitely continue to support this fantastic establishment.
