Santiam Subs - Lower Alloway Creek

I just visited on the way back home up portland. One of the worse sandwich shops i’ve been too. My sandwich was drier than dry and have very little taste to it. I also order fries to go along but never actually received them after paying. I was too far up the road to care to turn around and go back. I was not asked what I even wanted on my sandwich either, which we are allergic to tomatoes and they were on the sandwich. Paid almost 40 bucks a tip just to go stop somewhere else for lunch. I’m very sorry but it was very disappointing. I normally think highly of places for actually putting work in to getting the food but this place was not it. Especially paying for things and not even receiving them after clarifying 3 times that we wanted them.

I know times are tough but putting 3 thin slices of meat and 2 pieces of cheese 5 thin slices of tomato wilted lettuce on a big roll for 11 bucks is a little crazy live and learn but it will be a no for any future visit

The service was amazing. The music selection was great, and the vibe was off the hook. The food was good. The veggie sub is better than jersey Mike's. The meatball sub my kids loved. I had the chicken cheese steak. Also, the waffle fries are great, and the tots were not overcooked but crisp ?. Not all places can nail perfectly cooked tots. I do think the fry sauce could use something more. I think a small restaurant like this is crucial to having great sauces. They should come up with some signature sauces. Ordered via Uber eats. Poorest excuse for a cheesesteak I’ve ever seen in my life. Their pictures are HIGHLY deceiving. All I wanted all week was a damn cheesesteak and what I got was some pre packaged meat thrown on a sub roll with some Dijon mustard. Dijon effing mustard?! Really?! Least you could do was chop up some Steak Ums and throw some sliced cheese on for goodness sake. All of your houses should be toilet papered and flaming bags of my diarrhea left on your porch. FAIL

Awesome sub stop! We stopped here on a whim for a quick sandwich for dinner and were happily surprised of the sun quality at this hole in the wall spot. Veggie was fresh and delicious, server was super friendly, and beer prices were good. Vegetarian options: One vegetarian sub. The veggie. Super good and customizable.
