R Place Pub - Louisville

It is under new ownership, but it shows. much cleaner in there when it was the last years. the burger was great, barkeepers were friendly, but the covered fullyball court at the back was frigid cold! price they pay for beach volleyball in winter, I guess.

My favorite darts, pool, steelers bar for over 20 years, in the middle of the change peculiarity and something new that no one seems to know what, exactly. But we are eager and hopeful, it is an improvement!

Nice people. No draft beer. Boneless wings were not edible. Seems like they came from a frozen bag. No bone in wings available. Shortage going on I understand.

Imagine owning a business and talking so rudely to customers they don’t even want to stay and eat. Complete trash

I have been going to R Place periodically over a decade and through a ownership change.This is mostly a neighborhood bar with the addition of sand volleyball.The crowds are mostly older (40 and quite a few regulars. The exception to that is the volleyball leagues, which seem to do their own thing to the the extreme of it almost feeling like two different bars.The inside feels a bit dark and dingy, but some people like that.Do not expect 5 star service, people who dress up, or fancy cocktails.This is more of a place to get out of the house, have a few drinks, and chill.The chicken wings are exceptionally good for pub food. Other food I've had there does the job but I wouldn't put it into the same quality category of a going to a nice restaurant.Sometimes they'll have live music. The regular customers/management will periodically get together a billiards, darts, cornhole, poker tournament, or a benefit event to help someone in need who is a friend or family of the bar. They are good people.If you are nearby and want to stop for a few beers and decent pub food in a relaxed place, go for it.They basically let me take over the indoor volleyball area for a going away party one time, that was really great of them.Bonus points to management for fixing the bathrooms a little while back, they were in pretty rough shape for several years.TLDR; unless you know/are signed up for some sort of game/sports tournament, I wouldn't go far out of your way to visit R place. It's a good, local watering hole.
