We were here on a Thursday night and other than a few golfers around, there were not a lot of patrons here. This place has such a fantastic view, that it should bring in diners from all over. The problem is that the food is just OK compared to other establishments in PEI. For the same price, you can venture a few kilometers away and get better. We shared the Seafood Chowder as a starter. The flavor was good but the Seafood consisted of white fish and salmon mostly with a few specs of Lobster. It's served with a HUGE biscuit which would be so much more flavorful if it was heated up prior to being brought to the table. For mains, my hubbie had fish and chips. The meal was fine except for the fries. It looked like the cook had taken left over cold fries, placed them on the bottom of the bowl and added about 8 pipping hot fries on top. I had the Lobster Club. I have to say that it was the best part of our meals. There were significant chunks of Lobster in the bun and the salad it was served with was really nice, along with the home made citrus dressing. However, the next day, we were in another location on the Island and for the same price, the Lobster roll was full of Lobster chunks with very little filler. The manager took 20% off my husband's tab for the inconvenience with the fries. We just wish that this place could go back to what it was a few years ago...we miss it!
The chowder was piping hot and loaded with mussels, salmon and lobster chunks. It's not too thick but creamy. Came with a light and fluffy biscuit. Very filling and perfect for inch before our tee off. My partner's crispy chicken Caesar salad came with lots of chicken (looked like chicken fingers cut up into pieces) and he couldn't finish it. So a pretty healthy portion. The dining room has amazing views of the golf course which has lots of rolling hills leading right down to the river below. A very satisfying lunch all around.
Four of us were there. all diff selection from menu. Steak sandwich, was not good, rubber steak! non toasted roll under it. Others had fish tacos fish overcooked slivers, one has pan fried haddock and it was ok. was here last year and it was very good. So sorry to see it going down hill new cook maybe??In the area I would advise The Preserve Company.
We used to really enjoy going to this restaurant, however today proved to be very disappointing. The service was fine but the food was not very good.Three of us had the Lobster Sandwich. There was way too much bread for the amount of Lobster. The Lobster mixture featured pulverized Lobster meat mixed with too much mayonnaise and celery. Along with the slice of tomato, the Lobster flavor was hardly present. The others ordered Caesar salads and a Greek salad each with a chicken breast. The Greek salad was fine but all of the chicken breasts looked like they had been precooked, sliced and warmed up in an oven to the consistency of saw dust. They also tasted like saw dust. The waitress came back to check on us as we had eaten most of our meal. My husband mentioned his concern with the chicken and she offered to replace the chicken. She never offered to replace the other breasts. As far as we are concerned, the waitress, who wore a badge stating that she was a manager, should have known better than to serve this chicken. She should have replaced all of the breasts. The romaine in the Caesars was also a very pale greenish yellow colour. In the middle of July, it should not be difficult to get beautiful greens.Years ago when we first started eating here, you could order the Lobster Sandwich and it would consist of nice big chunks of fresh Lobster. This was such a disappointment, it will be very difficult to return.
