The Gray Zebra - Los Angeles

The neighborhood is lucky to have this place! Loved every bite. The crispy chicken burger and the BLTA are just a couple of standouts. Met the owner and chef, and it was truly a pleasure!

I was a huge fan of chef Allison at her former location in DTLA, Bodhi Bowl. When I saw she created the menu at Gray Zebra, I ran to thenHollywood location as fast as my feet would take me. She’s the matriarch of the restaurant, always smiling, talking real talk, serving the food herself with love and joy. And did I mention the food? We had two salads (Cesar and Cobb) and the Nachos. The “chicken” on the Caesar was exceptional, the nacho cheese on the nachos was the best v nacho cheese I’ve ever had. And I’ve been vegan 28 years! Kombuchas, root and ginger beers, blossoming orchids and succulents on tables. What an upgrade this space is, replacing Gegen, also a restaurant but that one didn’t get five stars. Beautiful concrete floor, clean kitchen, comfortable seating indoors for about 14 people max, bright space. You can eat healthy here or you can go comfort, but either way, you’ll have Alison’s amazing personal touch in every dish.

Couldn’t have asked for a better spot to replace Gegen. The food is perfect. The owner is the sweetest. Top notch all around. Thank you, Ali for bringing your amazing food to our neighborhood!

No need to think twice, just try the crispy ranch burger at this restaurant! The perfect blend of flavors will delight your taste buds. The original Herbivore-Patty is cooked to perfection and paired with delicious house-made pickles that are truly exceptional. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming. I can't wait to return for more delicious food and maybe even try a smoothie next time.
